Knife Edge
|
 |
What it is:
The plane flies on edge in a sustained hard
bank.
|
How to do it:
At near 3/4 throttle give the plane either
left or right aileron to get it up on the edge of the wing,
at the same time you will need to input rudder to keep the
nose from dropping.
|
Trickiest part:
Aside from steering it with the elevator
the plane may want to belly in so you need to make constant
adjustments to keep the plane up on edge. |
Recovery: Basic-
Release aileron first and return to level
flight.
|
Advanced-
You can snap roll form one knife edge to
another or give full rudder to carry out a knife edge loop.
One other variation is to decrease throttle and let the plane
slide on edge out of the sky, just don't let it get to low!
|
Worst way to mess up:
Let your plane get to close to the ground
just incase you have to roll out of the maneuver. |

| Sand Bag
Hold Downs Fill plastic zip-lock
bags of various sizes about 3/4 full of fine sand, and seal
each well.
Use these to hold down large parts while
building, such as wings. The sand will conform to the shape
of parts well. They also work good when gluing sheeting to
foam.
